Meters and feet are used to measure length, with their relationship being standardized:
1 foot = 0.3048 m
1 meter = 1/0.3048 feet = 3.280839 feet
Thus, if we want to convert feet to meters and meters to feet, we can write:
1 foot (ft) = 0.3048 meters (m)
1 meter = 3.280839 feet (ft)
These last two formulas allow us to easily convert meters to feet and feet to meters.
Note: 1 foot is defined as being equal to 0.3048 m. It can be easily remembered as 0.305m or feel free to remember and use it as it is defined: 1 ft = 0.3048 m.

In order to convert 3 meters to feet, we can write:
l = 3 m = 3 / 0.3048 = 9.84 feet
So, the length (l) of 3 meters equals the length of 9.84 feet.
Convert 16 feet to meters:
In order to convert 16 feet to meters, we can write:
l = 16 ft = 16 * 0.3048 = 4.8768 m
So, the length (l) of 16 feet is equal to 4.8768 meters.
