Conversion Formulas
A tablespoon is a nonSI measure of volume, with two different units US Tablespoon and Imperial Tablespoon. Both units can be expressed as:
1 US Fluid Ounce = 2 US Tablespoon = 29.5735 milliliters
1 US Tablespoon = 0.5 US Fluid Ounce = 14.78675 milliliters
1 Imp Fluid Ounce = 1.6 Imp Tablespoons = 28.4131 milliliters
1 Imp Tablespoon = 0.625 Imp Fluid Ounces = 17.7582 milliliters
Thus, in order to convert volume given in tablespoons into volume given in ounces, use these formulas:
V_{(US fl oz)}= 0.5 * V_{(US tablespoon)}
V_{(Imp fl oz)}= 0.625 * V_{(Imp tablespoon)}
Conversion Examples
If You have 17 tablespoons (US/Imp), that would be:
V_{(US fl oz)}= 0.5 * V_{(US tablespoon)} = 0.5 * 17 = 8.5 US fl oz = 251.37475 milliliters = 0.25137 liters
V_{(Imp fl oz)}= 0.625 * V_{(Imp tablespoon)} = 0.625 * 17 = 10.625 Imp fl oz = 301.88918 milliliters = 0.30188 liters
